MerryChristmas

It’s the most wonderful time of the year?

It might be the ‘most wonderful time of the year’ but it’s also a source of high stress for many people. There are many reasons why people find Christmas stressful – including pressure to find the perfect gift to give someone, pressure to have the perfect family gathering, and financial worries which all this can exacerbate.

However, with all this there is one thing that we need to remember. Christmas is all
about being together, making memories and resetting.

A perfect Christmas is objective. What might be perfect for you may not be perfect for the next person and that is how we take away the stress of Christmas. Everyone’s perception of perfection is different. For your family it maybe locking the doors and having your favourite

take away dinner on Christmas day and for others it may be having every member of their family ever around and a full roast. Whatever your idea of a perfect Christmas is, own it.

Here are some tips to help you get prepared for the big day.

  • Plan in advance – whatever your style of Christmas there is nothing more stressful that a last-minute run for something be it a turkey or wrapping paper! Having it all in advance saves you money, time and your stress levels!
  • Make a budget AND STICK TO IT – it is one day of the year and it is not worth going into financial hardship for.
  • If you are doing the full Christmas dinner prepare and make some in advance. A meal is not worth missing those once in a lifetime moments for. The children will remember you being their more than the dinner
